SECTION 01

Scope and responsible organisation

This policy applies to the Choice & Company Android application, package nz.org.caregreymouth.choicecompany, published for C.A.R.E. Incorporated. It explains the behaviour of this installed app and the matching public support pages. It does not describe separate booking, social-media, directory, emergency, health, transport or community-provider systems, each of which has its own operator and terms.

SECTION 02

Intended audience

Choice & Company is intended for adults, including older adults, trusted family or whānau, adult supporters, volunteers and community-session hosts. It is designed to preserve autonomy and respectful social connection. It is not directed to children and does not create profiles or communication channels for children.

SECTION 03

Purpose and core functions

The app provides fixed illustrated moments and optional local tools about everyday rhythm, home observation, outing preparation, social participation, respectful choice, volunteer hosting and practical boundaries. Its tools use fixed tokens, fixed checks and anonymous role blocks. It does not provide live services, determine eligibility, make bookings, dispatch help, monitor a person or reproduce an official care programme.

SECTION 04

Personal data collected or transmitted

The app does not request, collect, transmit, sell or remotely process personal data. It has no Internet permission, network client, server account, web form or cloud database. It does not request a name, email address, phone number, postal address, location, photograph, identifier, contact list, message, health detail or payment information.

SECTION 05

On-device choices

The app may store only three categories of non-personal state in its private application preferences: the order of six fixed Rhythm Keys, which of twelve fixed Ready Rail prompts are selected, and whether Reduce Motion is enabled. These values describe interface choices, not a person, diagnosis, schedule, service record, attendance record or care plan. They remain on the device unless the user clears or uninstalls the app.

SECTION 06

Sensitive records and free text

Choice & Company has no free-text field and is not designed to hold medication information, health or disability records, capacity assessments, care notes, emergency contacts, financial details, legal documents, attendance, incident reports, safeguarding records, photographs or private conversations. Users should keep such information in an appropriately authorised system outside this app.

SECTION 07

Android permissions

The release requests no Android permissions. It does not request Internet, camera, microphone, contacts, precise or approximate location, notifications, nearby devices, health data, calendar, phone, SMS or broad file-storage access. The operating system may still provide ordinary platform functions such as drawing the interface and storing private app preferences.

SECTION 08

Accounts and account deletion

The app has no registration, login, user account, password or server-side profile. Account deletion is therefore not applicable. Local app choices can be deleted with the in-app Reset Local Choices control, Android's Clear Storage control or by uninstalling the app.

SECTION 09

Advertising, analytics and software development kits

Choice & Company contains no advertising, targeted advertising, analytics, attribution, telemetry, remote configuration, social, payment or third-party crash-reporting SDK. It does not create an advertising identifier, fingerprint a device or measure engagement for a remote operator.

SECTION 10

Sharing, disclosure and sale

Because the app does not collect or transmit personal data, it does not share, disclose, rent or sell personal data to C.A.R.E. Incorporated, advertisers, data brokers, analytics providers or other third parties. Fixed source citations in the app do not transmit information to those sources.

SECTION 11

Network behaviour, external sources and contact

The app displays reference names and addresses as plain source text but makes no network request and does not embed web content. If a user independently visits a cited source or contacts an external organisation outside the app, that separate service may process information under its own policy. Choice & Company does not send email, submit contact forms or transfer a drafted message.

SECTION 12

Retention

The fixed Rhythm order, Ready Rail selection and Reduce Motion preference remain in private app storage until changed, reset, cleared through Android settings or removed by uninstalling. No remote copy exists for the publisher to retain. The app does not keep logs of viewed moments, button history, sessions or deleted selections.

SECTION 13

Deletion, backup and device transfer

Users can remove all local choices at any time with Reset Local Choices, Android Clear Storage or uninstall. Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for this app, and extraction rules exclude app files, preferences and databases. Users should not rely on the app as the only copy of important information because it is not designed to hold such information.

SECTION 14

Security and limits

Data minimisation, private application storage, absence of network access and disabled backup reduce exposure. However, anyone who can use an unlocked device may see the non-personal fixed choices currently displayed or saved. Device owners remain responsible for device access controls, operating-system updates and appropriate physical security. No software can guarantee absolute security.

SECTION 15

Children, families and safeguarding

The app is adult-oriented and does not knowingly collect data from children. It has no child profile, attendance list, chat, direct messaging, location sharing, public posting, follower system, leaderboard or targeted advertising. If the app is discussed in a setting where children are present, responsible adults must follow current consent, supervision, photography, safeguarding and response procedures outside the app.

SECTION 16

Health, safety, emergency and professional limits

Choice & Company offers general educational prompts only. It does not diagnose, treat, monitor wellbeing, assess capacity, assess falls risk, prescribe exercise, manage medication, certify a home or venue, provide legal or financial advice, or dispatch emergency help. For urgent danger or a medical emergency in New Zealand, contact 111. For non-urgent concerns, use the person's current qualified health, legal, financial, safeguarding, venue or support pathway.

SECTION 17

Policy changes and user choices

A future app version may update this policy when functions or legal requirements change. Any material change must be reflected consistently in the app, public policy, Play listing and Data Safety answers before release. Users may choose whether to use the optional local tools, may change any fixed choice and may reset all local state.

SECTION 18

Privacy correspondence

Privacy correspondence about Choice & Company may be sent by post to: C.A.R.E. Incorporated, 203 Tainui Street, Greymouth, West Coast 7805, New Zealand. Please identify Choice & Company in the correspondence and provide only the information reasonably needed for the enquiry. Do not include health, medication, financial, identity, emergency or other sensitive records in an initial privacy enquiry.
